5/27 IDOL RESULTS

IDOL 5/27 VOTE REPORT from Ian Shires
(abridged for length)

The Underground and The White Rose, bump Dogman and The Machine under the line today. I suspect we’ll see more line-jumps, as The Machine is outpacing at least 2 projects above it that got in earlier than it…so it has a solid shot to get back above the line. The Top 3 is not safe or set in stone for sure. With current paces, even Varsity Squad is not a lock on Round 4.

I gotta say, I do think this is the best year of Small Press Idol ever, we’ve got a GREAT group of creators, a solid number of whom I hope to see working within the SPA, helping us keep this place growing and getting better. So let’s get those numbers out there, and get back to work!

Early Art from the White Rose

I thought that today I would share some VERY early pages I did back in the winter of 2007-08. These are the very first pages I ever did for The White Rose - and also the first pages I ever inked - before I ever considered entering the project in a contest.

They were done for a Comicbook Illustration class I took at Massachusetts College of Art that year, called Art of the Comic Book. If you are in the Boston area and at the point in your art career where you would like a class, I highly recommend this class.

And if you like what you see, please consider voting for it in Small Press Idol at http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/forum-t46857.html
