IDOL ROUND 3 END OF VOTING POST from Ian Shires

OK, folks. I’ve tallied the numbers and got the final RAW standings. I have a LOT more work to do to get the bad account investigation complete, which - right now it looks like ALL 4 TOP PROJECTS have at least SOME bad accounts - and that is going to impact the numbers as I delete them.

So everyone knows the procedure I am using, we ran IP addresses for their source, and if they do not resolve to a source (IE - have gone through some sort of blocker) then we are flagging the accounts to verify them. I am doing that by basically asking each account to tell me who they are. If their e-mails ping directly back - then they are automatically bad accounts. We feel that anyone that has a problem with that procedure, needs to give us a really good explanation of why that’s not perfectly fair.

As the TOP 4 ended basically all within a 30 vote range, and all 4 are WELL into unprecedented territory for us for voting numbers, I’m not going to take the prospect of having 4 #0 books this year off the table yet. It’ll really come down to seeing how bad the fake accounts situation impacts those numbers.

It also leaves any decisions I have to make on the 50/50 votes hanging, until I can determine the top situation. So, as you can see, I have a lot of work yet to do, even after I just spent 7 hours tallying votes.
