*********FRIDAY 4/24 IDOL VOTE REPORT***********
from Ian Shires

Well, they can’t ALL be record days, and thank goodness for that! We saw a little bit of softening of the intensity yesterday, but even those kinds of days shows us a LOT about what’s going on.

The Underground is poised for a top 5 slot. And they did that with no new voters…just return voters. That shows me their fans are serious – even if the project missed a day of promoting to new people. The White Rose ran over Haxxor – but let’s look at that…Rose has almost twice as many voters as Haxxor. Seriously, at their rate, when Underground bumps itself up a couple more slots, the White Rose will be right behind it…with Top 5 projects less than half each day what those 2 are. It shows us the difference between getting in early and making that early splash, and coming in fighting. People wonder why we post projects as they come in instead of all at once, and this really illustrates why. Study those numbers, and see what they tell YOU!

More importantly, is what’s happening down at THE LINE…where project’s chances at getting a Cover Slot or #0 issue hang in the balance. Dinos jumps up 2 spots to move above the line, showing Quick Draw that life at the line is no fun as it only spent one day above. Look at the mid-range, ALL of you who are below the line. There are projects getting less than 10 votes. This is your opportunity to assert yourself, and claim a spot in Round 3. Seriously, if your total number of voters, is less than most projects are getting votes in one day, then you have work to do. I mean, back up slots in anthologies are nice…but a shot at $700 and a publishing contract is nicer. We KNOW it’s hard to sell yourself to the public. But to be a SMALL PRESS IDOL, someone your peers look up to, that is a big part of the game that NO ONE can do for you.

Ok! Let’s get this back into action, here’s the standings….
